Collection: Maison Balzac: Bedside Carafes, Hand-Blown Glassware, Platters & Everyday Objects

Maison Balzac is known for their glassware and delicate objects created in Sydney, Australia. It has greatly expanded to become a house of playful handmade objects for everyday life. They're especially well-known for their Bedside Carafe and Glasses.

Maison Balzac — Where Whimsy Meets the Table

French-born designer Elise Pioch Balzac launched Maison Balzac in Sydney in 2012, bringing with her childhood memories of Provencal gardens, bold colors, and a sharp fashion eye (Hermès, Margiela). What started with perfumed candles has blossomed into a homeware playground: hand-blown carafes and glass sets, playful platters, and scented candles & objects that spark delight.

Maison Balzac pieces are made to perform - whether it’s serving water from a bedside carafe, framing platters as decor, or sipping from jewel-toned tumblers that catch light just right. Handmade glass means each piece is unique: slight color tones, shape variances, and artisanal quirks are part of the charm.

On this page you'll find favorites like the Bedside Carafe & Glass set (a definitive Maison Balzac staple), seasonal platters, large glass cups, and decorative objects - each one built to uplift tabletop rituals and everyday moments.

FAQ for Maison Balzac

What kind of glass is used in Maison Balzac glassware?

Many Maison Balzac drinking glasses and bedside carafe pieces are hand-blown glass; some items use borosilicate glass which offers greater thermal resistance.

Are there variations between products due to handmade processes?

Yes. Because glass is handmade and blown, there can be subtle variances in color, shape, and thickness. These are not flaws—they’re part of the handmade character.

How should I care for Maison Balzac glassware?

While most items are dishwasher safe, Maison Balzac recommends hand washing with a soft bristle to preserve finish and avoid scratching. Avoid strong alkaline cleaners; treat your pieces gently.

Is Maison Balzac involved in fragrance / scented objects?

Yes. The brand has a foundational range of candles and scented objects; Elise uses a concept framework called Parfums d’Idées (Perfumes of Ideas), where scents are crafted around emotion and idea rather than just place or ingredient.
