The Squiggle Bird Mini Blanket was designed by Marcello Velho, a UK-based illustrator who finds his muse in the nature around him. He works in digital collage mixed with traditional painting, drawn to bold colour and abstract form. The Squiggle Bird is a good example of what that looks like in practice since it feels organic and graphic at the same time.

Every Slowdown Studio blanket starts as an original artwork. We collaborate with independent artists around the world to translate their creativity into art-inspired homewares. About the Artist

Marcello Velho has a love for color and abstract form. American born and UK-based, Marcello finds a muse in the tapestry of nature surrounding his everyday life. He uses digital collage mixed with traditional painting to produce bold, experimental compositions.
