Collection: Collaborations with Artist-Driven Brands Curated by Slowdown Studio

Collaborations with Artist-Driven Brands Curated by Slowdown Studio

The Collaborations collection brings together our favorite makers, studios, and independent designers—brands that share our belief that everyday objects can be functional art. Here you’ll find blankets, glassware, puzzles, bathmats, candles, and accessories created by some of the most imaginative voices working today.

From Sydney to Brooklyn, Paris to Los Angeles, these collaborations highlight our commitment to craft, play, and personality. Each brand in this collection brings something unique: whether it’s a woven throw designed in our own studio, a sculptural glass cup from Sophie Lou Jacobsen, or a quirky puzzle from Le Puzz, you’re shopping a carefully curated set of perspectives that all speak the Slowdown language of comfort and creativity.

Slowdown Studio

Our in-house label, where it all began. Known for artist-designed woven throws and knit blankets, Slowdown Studio collaborates with illustrators and designers from around the world to transform artworks into functional textiles. We’ve since expanded into pillows, rugs, and accessories—all rooted in the belief that art should be lived with, not just looked at.

Areaware

A New York-based design company celebrated for turning simple, everyday objects into clever, unexpected accessories. In our collaborations with Areaware you’ll find playful home goods and design-forward tools that balance humor, utility, and artful presentation.

Bow Glassworks

Founded by Brooklyn-based artist Andrew O. Hughes, Bow Glassworks is known for handblown glassware that celebrates form and color. Expect bold, jewel-toned pieces like vases and cups that function beautifully but feel like sculptural objects on their own.

Fazeek

From Melbourne, Australia, Fazeek combines bold design with a sustainable approach. Their candles, soaps, and glassware are all about playfulness and sensory delight—graphic silhouettes, vibrant colors, and fragrances that make ritual moments more expressive.

Fredericks and Mae

This Brooklyn studio is led by designers Gabriel Fredericks Cohen and Jolie Mae Signorile, who reimagine traditional craft into contemporary objects. Their collection includes cutting boards, coasters, and decorative homeware in colorful, confetti-like finishes that celebrate joy in everyday life.

Le Puzz

A delightfully weird puzzle company founded by Michael Hunter and Alistair Matthews. Their jigsaws—like Heads, New Dimension, and Freaky Deaky—are designed to feel more like creative experiences than pastimes. Le Puzz puzzles celebrate humor, nostalgia, and the meditative act of putting pieces together.

Maison Balzac

A French-born, Sydney-based studio by Elise Pioch Balzac, known for hand-blown glassware, platters, and perfumed candles. Inspired by Elise’s childhood in the south of France, Maison Balzac combines whimsy, bold color, and delicate craftsmanship. Their Bedside Carafe & Glass sets are iconic, alongside sculptural platters and seasonal glass collections.

Piecework

A modern puzzle brand reinventing the category with vibrant, art-driven jigsaws. Piecework puzzles are packaged like luxury goods, turning downtime into a design ritual. Their puzzles highlight still-life compositions and richly detailed artwork that feel as beautiful on the table as they do completed.

Sophie Lou Jacobsen

The French-American designer based in New York is known for her Ripple Cups, Spiral Coasters, and sculptural pitchers. Sophie Lou Jacobsen transforms glassware into joyful, performative objects—each piece designed to shift perspective and mood in daily rituals.

Tarta Gelatina

A Barcelona-based design duo behind some of the most playful bathmats you’ll ever see. From wavy edges to bold, poppy colors, Tarta Gelatina designs turn bathrooms into spaces of personality and fun. Their rugs and mats are just as practical as they are artistic.

Third Drawer Down

An Australian design studio specializing in collaborations with contemporary artists. Third Drawer Down produces homeware, textiles, and playful everyday objects that carry the wit and imagination of the artists they work with. Expect humor, subversion, and art-world attitude in the most functional forms.

Why Collaborations Matter

Each collaboration is a reminder that design thrives in conversation. By working with artists, brands, and makers across the globe, Slowdown Studio builds a collection that’s bigger than any one perspective. These pieces are personal, expressive, and lasting—the kind of objects that bring joy and meaning to everyday life.
