About the Artist
Nikki Dionne, a Texas-based illustrator and fiber artist, crafts work that dissects the “perceived self” versus the “presenting self” of women of color, shaping identity through various mediums like fiber, pastels, and digital tools. Embracing a spontaneous creative process, she draws inspiration from self-perception, often captured in unfiltered selfies, and emphasizes the diverse experiences of Black women in her art. Dionne’s style, honed through practice and recognizable by its unique strokes, thrives in a light-filled studio space, driven by the energy of the Dallas art scene and her journey of self-taught exploration and artistic affirmation.

Shipping & Returns
We offer free shipping within the U.S (excluding Alaska, Hawaii) for orders over 100 USD, and free international shipping for orders over 400 USD (excluding select countries in Africa). Order Processing: All orders ship out of the USA. Please allow 1-2 business days for your items to ship out (up to 4-5 business days during sale periods). You will receive a shipping confirmation email, with tracking as soon as your package goes out.
International Orders: All international orders (including those that qualify for free shipping) are subject to customs, taxes, import duties, brokerage fees, or any additional charges by your local government. As the recipient, you are solely responsible for any of these charges. Please note that the refusal to pay duties will result in the customer being responsible for the return shipping fees.
Returns: All returns and exchanges must be made within 30 days of purchase, at your own shipping expense unless a product is faulty or has significant deviation form what is displayed in the website, Slowdown Studio will cover the cost of the return and supply the customer with a prepaid return label. I fell in love with Slowdown Studio throws the minute I laid eyes on one at my friend's place and immediately ordered one for our home. It soon became the statement piece of our living room. We have ordered three more throws since for different rooms and love each one of them. They add certain ethereal beauty to a space and are so immaculately crafted.
