The Windmill - First Contact Throw was designed by Linda Napaltjarri Syddick in collaboration with Koskela for our Tangentyere collection.
The Tangentyere collection is a limited edition collection that showcases the work of three Australian Indigenous artists: Emma Daniels, Linda Syddick and Wentja Morgan. These three blanket designs represent the culture and country of the artists and their community and feature elements of Papunya and Karrinyarra country.
We teamed up with Koskela to bring this collection to life. Koskela has a long and respected history of Indigenous Design Collaboration and Social Impact work with Indigenous-owned organizations. They have a wonderful relationship with the Tangentyere Artists, an Alice Springs based not-for-profit Aboriginal owned Art Centre that represents the breadth and depth of Central Australian cultural diversity. The licensing fee proceeds go directly to the not-for-profit art centre, and artists/artist’s estates.
Slowdown Studio woven blankets are the perfect weight to be used on the couch, as a picnic rug, or to hang on the wall as art. They are proudly made from 100% cotton grown, spun and woven in the USA. All blankets are manufactured with yarn that is made from 70% recycled cotton.
Each blanket measures 54" x 70" (137cm x 178cm). Care instructions: Cold machine wash on a gentle cycle, and dry on a cool cycle or line dry.
